All of our Merchant Shops are e-commerce capable and complete WordPress websites that include the customizable Wootique theme and SSL certificate for secure transactions. NuggetWeb manages updates and plugins for you so you never have to worry about applying security patches, or plugin conflicts that can crash your website.

Our basic Merchant Shop does not include a domain name or email. Your website address will be http://name-you-choose.nuggetweb.com.

The Merchant Shop Plus includes everything from the standard Merchant Shop, as well as domain name hosting (example: http://www.yourbusiness.com). You may purchase your own domain name or we can purchase it for you for $15 per year.

The Merchant Shop Pro also includes everything from the Merchant Shop Plus, as well as unlimited e-mail at your domain name (example: you@yourbusiness.com). Simpy tell us the addresses at your domain you would like to use and we will be happy to configure them for you.

Plugins can also be purchased to provide added functionality to any Merchant Shop.

No, you do not need to have your own domain name. Buying and setting up a domain name can be costly and confusing, but with NuggetWeb you skip all of the hassle. Your shop address simply becomes part of nuggetweb.com’s domain name (http://yourshop.nuggetweb.com).

If you already have your own domain name, or would like to have to, NuggetWeb can host it for you. Check out our Merchant Shop Plus and Merchant Shop Pro for details.

At NuggetWeb we use sophisticated software that constantly scans our entire network in real-time, looking for potential threats and vulnerabilities. No matter if it’s a human trying to hack in or an automated attack, our software protects your Merchant Shop from harm.

Customer data is protected by a “wildcard” 256-bit encryption secure certificate to keep your customers’ information safe, so you there’s no need to purchase an expensive SSL certificate of your own to sell your products on NuggetWeb.

If you use your PayPal Personal account to accept payments, your customers are temporarily taken to PayPal’s secure website to enter their payment information. Once they finish their purchase, they are returned to your Merchant Shop.

If you would like something a bit more sophisticated, SSL is included with your Merchant Shop! You can accept your customers payment on your own Merchant Shop using one of our available payment gateways, and we will provide the secure certificate to keep your customers’ data safe. Don’t worry… we’ll take care of the technical details! We even include the Stripe Payment Gateway at no additional fee, so it’s easy for you to accept credit and debit card payments on your own Merchant Shop! You just need a free Stripe.com account.

Please note that payment gateways often charge fees of their own to process payments.

One of the first decisions you’ll need to make is what name you want in your Merchant Shop address, commonly called a URL.

All NuggetWeb.com URL’s are similarly named, with nuggetweb.com at the end of the address such as:

Shopname.nuggetweb.com

NuggetWeb.com is the Domain Name.  This saves you the cost of having to purchase your own .com domain name and maintain that name.  If you would like your own domain name (for example: www.ginafudge.com), we can provide for this, but keep in mind an extra fee will be charged for the service, and a yearly cost is involved.

There are guidelines you should be concerned with when choosing your shop’s name:

  • The name should be a short, but descriptive name for your shop. Try to think of something that describes your business, and easy to remember and type into a web browser.

 

For example, “jamiesshop.nuggetweb.com” would work very well, but “jamiescookiesandcraftsandjewelryandmakeup.nuggetweb.com” is hard for people to digest.

 

  • The shop name is not case-sensitive, but it can only contain letters and numbers.
  • Lastly, domain names are subject to restrictions due to trademark and copyright laws. Most of the time, the owner of a registered trademark is able to contest the ownership of a domain name that mimics the registered trademark. This can be a very murky area, but in general it is highly recommended that you not register domains that infringe on registered trademarks unless you are the holder of that trademark (i.e.: pizza-hut.nuggetweb.com).

Your Merchant Shop Title is usually the name you are going to give to your shop, such as “Debbie’s Flowers”. This is generally displayed in bold text at the top of every page in your Merchant Shop. Once you receive your login information, you will be able to add a website logo and use that in place of the title and shop description.

You can change the title of your shop anytime you like in your Dashboard General Settings. This is also where you can change your site’s short description (sometimes called a tagline).

Your Merchant Shop description is often called a “tagline”. It is generally displayed just under your Shop Title on your Merchant Shop pages. Once you receive your login information, you will be able to add a website logo and use that in place of the title and description.

You can change the description of your Merchant Shop anytime you like in your Dashboard General Settings. This is also where you can change your shop’s title.

We know it takes a little bit of time to set up your Merchant Shop, so we’re not going to bill you for your NuggetWeb Merchant Shop until 30 days after signup. Your first month is on us!

After your first month we will automatically bill you monthly using the payment method of your choice. You can change your payment method on the My Account screen anytime you like.

While we don’t know why you would want to, you may also cancel your Merchant Shop anytime you like on the My Account page.

If you signed up for your Merchant Shop at a sale price, your Merchant Shop bill will not go up.

We offer many optional add-on services to our Merchant Shop owners. Check out our plugins to add even more features to your Merchant Shop!

You can save money on your Merchant Shop, simply by getting your friends to sign up. When you refer a friend and their account remains active for 90 days, we’ll give you a free month for each new signup! Contact us for details!

Your initial billing cycle will begin the day of signup, however, you not will be billed until after your first month has expired.

The amount of time between a monthly billing interval is one month. This means 30 days for some months (April, June etc.), 31 days for others, and then 28 or 29 days for February.

If a monthly subscription is created on the 15th of February, the next payment will be charged on the 15th March.

No! If you’re not satisfied with your Merchant Shop, simply cancel at anytime. There is never a cancellation fee. If you cancel before your first 30 days are  up, we won’t bill you a penny!

Whether or not you need to charge sales tax, and how much can seem like a daunting task to new business owners. Thankfully there are resources to help small business owners just like you sort through it.

Whether or not you should charge your customers taxes is based on the concept known as a nexus. A nexus means that your business has some “physical connection” to a state for your to be required to collect taxes. A physical connection may be employees (such as yourself), a brick-and-mortar store, a warehouse, or some kind of other assets located in the state.

GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping (formerly Outright) has a wealth of information for small business owners, including this handy resource: Sales Tax Resources for Online Sellers in Every State.

Once you know who and how much you should be taxing your customers, it’s easy to configure your NuggetWeb Merchant Shop to collect the required amount. Simply enable taxes in your Merchant Shop settings, and enter the amounts to collect for each state you have a nexus in. Even local sales taxes are a breeze to configure. Your checkout will calculate and display the taxes based on your customers’ shipping address.

Whether you use a PayPal Personal account, Stripe or any other of our available payment gateways, payments go directly into the account you have set up with them. NuggetWeb does not interfere with your payments, and we do not withhold commissions on Merchant Shops.

In other words, you are in control of your own profits!

Once we receive your order, we will begin creating your merchant shop. This generally takes less than 24 hours, after which we will email you with instructions on how to access and operate your Merchant Shop. You will also receive our NuggetWeb Merchant Shop Handbook, and full access to our Support Portal for assistance.
